For a long time, I've been frustrated in my attempt to capture photos of hawks. It seems that the only time I saw them was when I didn't have my camera with me.
Well, yesterday was HAWK DAY! Check out the collection online and you'll see what I mean.
And for you, Jeremy, I incuded a couple of scenes of the Sutter Buttes.
Great pictures! Do you use a tripod for the most part?

Oh- very nice! Great shots. Thank you for providing me 'lunch break' solace!
[The ONLY bird photo I got over the weekend was a perfectly lovely little Carolina wren who'd popped out of the underbrush on a 34degree day for a snack!]

Nancy -- I carried the tripod with me the whole day (including a 3-mile walk on the trails), but I shot most of those hand-held. At least half the day I spent on the auto tour, and could use the window sill to stabilize. For part of the time, I put the top down on the car, and would stand up in the seat or sit on the console between seats. Then I held the camera with my upper arms resting against my body for stabilization.
